I really really love Mexican food! The real authentic kind of Mexican food and I’ve tried a lot of mole sauces. This was probably one of the best Mole sauces I have ever had! It took me a bit to get it right but its flavorful and delicious! If you really love Mexican food like I do or want to try it out, then I would 100% recommend to give this recipe a try!!

Ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 2 cups thinly chopped white onion
  • 8 garlic clove minced
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 2 tbsp chili powder
  • 1/3 cup flour
  • 4 1/2 cups of vegetable broth
  • 1/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate

Instructions:

  1. Heat oil in a large skillet or saucepan
  2. Add onion, garlic oregano, cumin and cinnamon
  3. Cover pan and cook on medium heat until the onions are tender (stir often)
  4. Put in chili powder and flour and mix for few minutes, then gradually whisk in the vegetables broth and increase heat to medium-high
  5. Boil to reduce the liquid by stirring occasionally for about 30 mins
  6. Remove from heat and whisk in the semi-sweet chocolate
  7. salt and pepper to taste, then set aside to cool
