Instructions

Step 1: Prep the Chicken

  1. Cut both tips off the chicken wings. Carefully remove the bones to leave a flat pouch shape.
  2. Rinse and pat dry. Set aside in a baking dish.

Step 2: Marinate

  1. Add light soy sauce, oyster sauce, honey, dark soy sauce, black pepper, a pinch of salt, and ginger slices.
  2. Add 3 cubes of butter on top.
  3. Mix everything well so the wings are evenly coated.
  4. Cover and refrigerate for 30 minutes.

Step 3: Add the Potatoes

  1. Cut peeled potatoes into thick matchstick-sized pieces.
  2. Stuff 2–3 potato sticks into each wing opening to look like a mini skewer.

Step 4: First Bake

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C (356°F).
  2. Place wings on a lined baking tray.
  3. Bake for 18 minutes.

Step 5: Glaze & Second Bake

  1. Mix 2 tsp honey with 1 tsp warm water.
  2. Brush this glaze over the baked chicken pieces.
  3. Bake again for 10 more minutes, until shiny and golden.

Step 6: Finish & Serve

  1. Sprinkle toasted white sesame seeds on top.
  2. Serve warm and enjoy with dipping sauce or ketchup!
